Ditch the Chevys

I always enjoy my monthly fix reading Classic American, until I disappointedly stumble across yet another Chevrolet article. They get featured too much in my opinion, almost as if General Motors only had one make – Chevrolet. Remember, this wasn’t the flagship of GM, and only the Ford Escort/Vauxhall Astra of American cars.

I’m now 46 and have been an obsessed US car freak since I was 14. Now I’m an owner/driver of them. I have nothing against Chevrolets but there are other even more stylish makes produced. The car shows have recently become uninteresting as 99% of the cars and trucks bear the bow tie motif. Not enough Oldsmobiles in my opinion. Its history was far greater than any other make.

Great mag and a few less Chevrolets please. Keep up the good work.

Dear ‘M’, in mitigation Chevrolet was probably the most prolific car on American roads for many years, and as such probably the most iconic, but point taken. You’ll be delighted to hear that next month we have a whole issue devoted to Fords… without a single Chevy in sight!
