Cougar-Mustang

Dear Classic American,...I though I’d share with you this early Mustang sketch; in 1962, Ford designer Jack Telnack sketched this proposal for the original Mustang fastback.
If you look closely at the rear end of the car, you will notice an interesting bit of trivia. The car bears the name ‘Cougar’ which was the code name for the Mustang project until the actual Mustang name was approved.
