Editor's Intro
Strange times indeed
19 July 2012
Welcome to August’s issue, although you might actually think it’s October or November, as summer seems to have completely bypassed us so far!
Standard of the World
21 June 2012.
That was, of course, the term Cadillac used to describe itself, and undoubtedly that was no exaggeration for several generations. Indeed, we still describe things as being ‘the Cadillac’ in their field.
This is Ford Country...
17 May 2012.
Well, for this month only! While we avoid producing single marque specific issues generally (one man’s Ford heaven, is a Mopar fan’s hell, right?!), we thought it was about time the folks from the Blue Oval got a bit of a salute.
‘What’s this?’
19 April 2012.
...you might be asking. Well, this being an election year in the US, we thought we’d celebrate with a little retro nostalgia in the form of a free ‘window card’.
Wakey Wakey!
15 March 2012.
It’s time to come out of hibernation, whip off those dust sheets, pump up those tyres and hook up that battery! Yes, spring is in the air and to get you in the mood is our annual summer show wallplanner.
A sad note
16 February 2012.
It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Classic American’s founding editor Tony Beadle last month. Having read the the title since issue one when I was a student, he was someone I was familiar with from being a teenager.
Happy 250th!
19 January 2012.
In the words of the Grateful Dead: “What a long strange trip it’s been…” This month’s magazine isn’t celebrating 250 years of Classic American, but 250 issues, which translates into 24 years since that first undated issue hit the shelves back in the summer of 1988.
Not so bleak after all...
15 December 2011.
Welcome to our Pontiac Special! Listening to the news these days you could be forgiven for thinking we’re all going to be living in carboard boxes and eating our shoe soles for dinner next week.
The Special Great One!
17 November 2011.
Time to make some more space on your walls for yet another Classic American Collector’s Series poster!
It’s a Family Affair
20 October 2011.
This year’s Classic Motor Show has “running in the family” as its theme, which got me thinking about how many of us have inherited our enthusiasm for American cars and trucks from our families.
